Happy New Year?
I know some people on Tumblr had a crappy 2010. To all of you I am sending some of my good fortune from this year in the hopes that it will carry over into 2011!
food processor vs immersion blender

Can’t decide between the two. got some cash for Christmas and am determined to add either of these small appliances to my kitchen. Can’t decide which will be better in the long run. Right now I just want something that purees well, is compact and easy to clean. (I’ll mainly be using it to make baby food in the beginning.)

YES! So good. Loved the parents.
Ha!
Wait, Jules. You aren’t married. I got you mixed up with Astrid for a minute there. Bahahahah….my eyes are bad today apparently. So, a fight to the death for Mr. Tilney. Or until we run out of breath.

Elizabeth Bennet!! I figured that’s who I would get.
me, too! I am surprised, I think. although Henry Tilney is also listed as one of the ideal matches, and I always really felt like he’d be kind of perfect for me. possibly even better for me than Mr Bingley! I definitely need a guy who can joke with and tease me. I would always worry that a Mr Darcy would...

Really?!?
I LOST two pounds over the last two days of eating. Does this mean I should feast more often? Your guess is as good as mine.
Can't be bothered
My relatives arrive in an hour, and I can’t be bothered to get a shower and fancy up.
My reasoning: We have two Christmas celebrations in my family. The first is the one fraught with landmines — uncles who talk like they are a character from a Lewis Carrol story, cousins who have snide remarks for everything, aunts who are depressed, etc. etc. forever till the end of time. You have...
New beginnings.

I must admit, in the past I had used this blog sloppily. I was importing from my other blog, while keeping an eye on my sister’s tumblerings. Well…this has now changed! I am going to further explore this world of Tumblr, and try to do it right this time. No more imports. Just Tumblr. Let’s see how this goes.
Oh, and Merry Christmas to you and yours!
Sweet dreams, Emily

Stop being tacky. It’s fine to talk about what you believe or don’t in your posts and reblog other like minded individuals. But, to go out of your way to insult/mock/belittle a person (via reblog) for posting a completely innocent religious experience is just rude.
True story. I feel like Linus on Charlie Brown Christmas these days.

I’m typically a generous guy. I typically over-tip at restaurants and bars, etc. But, tipping can get out of control.
When you live in NYC, the holiday season means tip time. And tip time means rip out the $$$. In all seriousness, I can possibly tip more at Christmas than what I spend on…
That’s insane, GC. Tipping is definitely getting out of hand. But I can...
Me: Are there any good Christmas songs in Latin?
Boss: I don't think the Romans got around to celebrating that.
Me: Oh, yeah. They just called it "That time we killed that guy."
Boss: No, that's Easter.
How is this possible???
Someone managed to turn a movie with Reese Witherspoon, Paul Rudd and Jack Nicholson into a complete stinker. How, HOW is that possible? It’s Paul Rudd!! The most likable man on the planet, and you had me hating him. Good Lord of mercy above.
Don't forget the chicken! →
If you haven’t ordered your Christmas chicken in Japan, it’s probably too late.
Just lovely
I love this time of year, when people, you know, like to bash everything I believe more than usual. Joyous, I tell you. :)
Things I miss about England:
1. Ancient buildings
2. Walks along the Thames
3. Towpath Cafe (Seriously, NOM.)
4. Aussie coffee (Odd, I know, but there a ton of great coffee shops run by Aussies/Kiwis)
5. Saturday markets
6. The East End
7. These people.

I’ve been listening to The Hitchiker’s Guide radio series again, and it makes me think if there’s room for a radio serial these days. Certainly not on terrestrial radio, but certainly a podcast could gain some traction, right?
Of course, I’m a terrible actor and a brutal writer, so the best I could do is produce it.
I would listen to podcasts like this! I have the Chronicles of Narnia...
Trying to regulate heart rate while driving...
I’m really trying to watch my language while driving:
“I hope you have deep feelings of self-loathing and regret that only highlight your feeble existence!”
Bread pudding with caramel whiskey sauce.
That is all.
